After the success of Vaanmathi, Swathi returned to Hyderabad to complete her education and turned down film offers.^[2]

After a break, she returned to play a supporting role in Ameer's Yogi.^[3]

Personal life[edit]

She was engaged to a Dubai-based entrepreneur, Srikanth, in 2008 but the wedding was later called off.^[1] Swathi later got married to a company director, Kiran on 2 December 2009 at Maruthi Gardens, Red Hills in Hyderabad and subsequently announced her retirement from films.^[4]
