With the hiring of Jon Gruden came sweeping changes to the Oakland Raiders roster. When you pay a coach $100 million over 10 years, though, it's expected they'll make big changes.
Gruden did just that, releasing more than a handful well-known names, including wide receiver Michael Crabtree and All-Pro punter Marquette King. He also revamped the cornerback position as a whole, made multiple offseason trades and brought in over 40 new faces across the roster.

Now, the Raiders are rolling along in training camp, but there are still multiple decisions that need to be made and positional battles to be decided. It should be a pretty wild few weeks for the Silver and Black, and the depth chart is far from being finalized. But we're still going to take a deep dive into it and predict how things will wind up looking on both sides of the ball.
There's no better way to kick things off than by breaking down the offensive side of the ball, so we'll start with the quarterback position and roll through it.
Spoiler alert — Derek Carr is going to start at quarterback.
1. Derek Carr
2. EJ Manuel
3. Connor Cook
This is pretty much expected, but I do believe Manuel will be able to hold onto that No. 2 job behind Carr. While Cook has apparently taken strides forward this offseason, I don't believe it'll quite enough.
If Gruden and company had to call one of these two into action, it's hard to envision any scenario where they are more confident rolling out Cook over Manuel. I originally thought the Raiders may bring in another quarterback (after the Christian Hackenberg release), but it seems more likely now that they'll stick with what they have.
1. Marshawn Lynch
2. Doug Martin
3. DeAndre Washington
There was a bit of consideration to make Lynch and Martin the 1A and 1B options, but in the end, I do believe Beast Mode will hold the starting job.
While Martin has impressed quite a bit throughout OTAs and minicamp, once the team hits the field for the regular season, Lynch's pure power and talent will shine through. He really came on late last season and that should carry over to 2018.
Possibly the even bigger topic here, though, is the DeAndre Washington vs. Jalen Richard battle. I don't feel great about the choice of Washington over Richard, just because there is so much unknown currently. But the decision to choose Washington was based on the thought process that Ryan Switzer will likely be the Raiders' punt returner. Pairing that with the fact that Richard is a restricted free agent after this season while Washington is under contract for one more year, and I'm going to roll with the latter.
1. Keith Smith
Not much to say here. The Raiders traded with the Dallas Cowboys for Keith Smith and are high on him. It would take something drastic for him to not be the team's fullback this season.
Maybe Gruden does something off-the-wall like keeping two fullbacks, but I can't see it happening.
1. Amari Cooper
2. Jordy Nelson
3. Martavis Bryant
4. Ryan Switzer
5. Seth Roberts*
6. Marcell Ateman
I opted to go with an extra wideout over keeping someone like Richard or Chris Warren at running back. If the Raiders do wind up trading Roberts, though, it could potentially result in one of those two running backs finding their way onto the roster. I also recently added seventh-round pick Marcell Ateman to the roster over Johnny Holton, but that battle should be close.
Keon Hatcher and/or Isaac Whitney could be in the mix for a roster spot at wideout as well, but it's likely one will land on the practice squad, assuming they don't get signed elsewhere.
Finally, the choice to roll Switzer out ahead of Roberts was a tough one, but based on the praise he's received early on and his pure playmaking ability, I think there's a good chance he carves out some playing time for himself at wideout this season.

1. Jared Cook
2. Lee Smith
3. Derek Carrier
Both Marcus Baugh and Pharaoh Brown are interesting prospects, and I think at least one will make the practice squad. If Gruden and company really want to shake things up or simply fall in love with one of the two young tight ends, they could opt to keep them on the 53-man roster over Carrier.
Cook is the clear-cut No. 1 tight end and had one of the best seasons of his career in his first year with the Silver and Black. Expect him to be involved quite a bit in the offensive gameplan this season.
1. Donald Penn (starting left tackle)
2. Kolton Miller (starting right tackle)
3. David Sharpe
4. Brandon Parker
I'm not completely locked in on the fact that Miller will start at right tackle, but after the Raiders selected him No. 15 overall, I don't think they'll just sit him on the bench all year. Obviously, Breno Giacomini (who I have
I like David Sharpe quite a bit, and possibly too much. He may wind up being No. 4 if Parker is able to impress during training camp, but I do believe Sharpe will wind up making the final cut over someone like Giacomini or Jylan Ware.
1. Rodney Hudson
Not a tough call here at all. A two-time Pro Bowl center who's built an exceptional rapport with Carr. There's no reason to consider this going any other way, and I don't believe the Raiders will hold a second center, which also isn't surprising.
1. Kelechi Osemele (starting left guard)
2. Gabe Jackson (starting right guard)
3. Jon Feliciano
4. Denver Kirkland
It's easy to forget how much hype was building around Kirkland before his injury last season. If he impresses the new coaching staff how he did last offseason with Jack Del Rio and company, he should have staying power.
Aside from these four, Ian Silberman and Jordan Simmons seem like interesting names to watch, but I don't believe they'll do enough to supplant either Feliciano or Kirkland. Overall, this is a solid core at the guard spot and completes one of the stronger offensive lines in the NFL.
